Hi, I have got a mate’s 6s that I am trying to fix… the phone will not power on full stop. Regardless of whether it is on charge or not! Also, a computer cannot pick it up, even a third party piece of software. I have replaced the lightning port as my first step but seems to have not worked, although I will try plugging it in to a computer to try for a response. Is it worth trying to replace the battery or is it most likely a board issue? If so, is there anywhere in the UK that you guys reccommend for board repair or am I better off buying a second hand logic board and replacing it? When replacing a logic board, I can put any board in right? As long as I have the associated touchid sensor? Thanks, Ed
Your 6S should be giving signs of life, but in case you might have a faulty screen and a faulty battery you wouldn’t get signs of life from a Pc nor see anything from the screen. Hard to tell without testing and/or trying known good parts. You would need an Usb Ammeter to check if the iphone at least draws some power to start with, but on the other end you risk buying parts and tools without getting anywhere. With current prices for used 6s iphones is really hard to tell what’s the best way to spend your money, but in case you decide to buy a used board there’s no problem about the memory size, all boards fit the same.
this could be an issue with the charging ic or a vcc main fault. Theres probably a few techs on here from the uk, im based in northern ireland
