Chosen Solution

Just finished up with an iPhone 6s screen repair and water damage repair. The iPhone was dropped in a toilet a few weeks before, and would not power up or connect to iTunes. After letting it completely dry, I replaced the battery and charging port, and took off the EMI shield stickers off the logic board and soaked and lightly scrubbed in 99% alcohol. After putting everything back together when completely dry…I tested it with a replacement screen….the phone booted up and worked perfectly. After about 2 hours it suddenly shut off while browsing safari and would not connect to iTunes or turn on after pressing both the home and power button (even for 30 seconds)…any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and plugging in the screen with no home button, but that has not worked.

You have already tried everything possible for a DIY repair. At this point, you should consider a professional repair shop that does water damage repair. They may be able to recover your phone or the data because they have access to pro-level ultrasonic baths and specialized cleaners as well as the skills to troubleshoot your board. Many shops have a no fix/no fee policy so you don’t have to spend money to find out if the phone is fixable or not.
