Hello, I recently bought an iPhone 6 on ebay in the condition that it came up to the iTunes screen. I tried to kick it out of the loop, which didn’t work. I then restored it, and it always fails with an error 3 while it is restoring the firmware. The board looks like it got a slight amount of water damage. I know this error relates to the baseband. I have soaked the board in 99% alcohol, but it didn’t help. I also cleaned the board with a brush. It looks clean. Do I need to remove and reball the baseband ic? Thanks!

Check the BBPMU voltages first before reballing the BBCPU. The thing with water damage is that you never really know what will be affected. Ideally, this board needs to go in an ultrasonic cleaner first, soaking in IPA isn’t enough.
