Hello, My iPhone 6 Plus screen is acting weird. It flickers at the top and the touch becomes unresponsive. I have to warp the phone at the top for the touch to work. If left unlocked, the phone does its own thing. It has sent messages to random people. The phone is in a very good condition for its age. It has always been in a case, maybe dropped twice or thrice in its lifetime. I have videos that show the problem, but the website doesn’t have a feature to upload videos. Thank you. AM

I’m not sure what Cris Stables is doing but here’s some information from someone that has worked on this difficulty. The reason you have to wrap your phone in some way to get the digitizer to respond is because of a loose connection in the ribbon that goes from the logic board to the screen. Once the ribbon comes loose from the digitizer it’s all downhill from there. You will eventually lose all touch capability and then the device is rendered temporarily useless. This is common for the iPhone 6 and 6Plus and is listed as a manufactures defect. My suggestion is to buy a new (complete) LCD and Digitizer replacement. These have to be carefully replaced and it can be very easy to damage the replacement part while installing it. So watch this You-Tube video specifically of this so you know what to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3KzmCwu… You can find a replacement on Ebay here, https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-iPhone-6s-P

This is a signature fault on the iPhone 6 plus. It is known as touch disease and requires the touch IC to be removed and a small jumper wire soldered. This is why you have to warp your phone as the trace and pad under the IC has lifted.

I had this problem and a new screen didn’t fix it. I was told by a repair shop that it had touch disease and to permanently fix the problem it would require micro soldering.
