Chosen Solution
Currently have an iPhone 6, its got the no service / baseband IC issue so rather than showing no Sim its got not service, I’m likely to try to fix that by reballing it however before I break it doing that I was wondering if there was some software method of just using it as an IPOD touch or the likes, with WiFi only. Can’t seem to activate it using iTunes / another Iphone or just WiFi seems to be looking for a sim detection. Any software fixes / hacks that can done for this before attempting the hardware ?
Not really, you need the baseband to be there to be able to activate and without activation you can’t really use it for anything. Unless you’ve tried it already you can try a DFU restore, maybe you’re in luck and it temporarily restores baseband. If it fails it might get stuck in DFU until you fix the hardware but you’ve got really nothing much to lose at this point.
The only option is to reball the IC and make jumpers in V1 and U1 pins.
