Hi @refectio ! Recently i repaired totally dead water damage iPhone 6. Phone boot and work fine. After 2 weeks start problems with charging. First, phone wont charge, when i connected wallcharger, but via computer charge without problems. Now phone definitely stop charge. So i do: Replace U1700 Tristar Replace U1401 Tigris Do hard jumper Q1701 Check all Tristar and Tigris caps for short - all is ok Replace Dock connector Replace Bettery After measurement voltages i found FIRST problem, when i have connected battery and dock charging port to the motherboard Tigris E1 pin with name CHG_ACT_DIO is low - 0V. When i connect this line to 5V, phone still won´t work. After measurement working board this line have 5V. After cleaning board with ultrasonic cleaner phone start charge for only 3-5mins. After then, phone stop charging and do not want charge anymore. ,I must put board again to the ultrasonic cleaner and clean, board start charge for 3-5mins and after this time stop charging. To this problem is board fully working (i can power on board) Tigris and Tristar i replaced 2-3x i used new one and one from working boar also. Same result. Did you seen it before? PS: I clean with ultrasonic cleaner only area below SIM card connector, i do not clean the entire bord. I do not believe that there is short. Thanks for your question Best regards, Tomáš

Hi Tomáš. I would always clean the entire board. Just because you can’t see any water or corrosion, that doesn’t mean that no water came in contact. It may also be under the IC’s, particularly the PMIC, CPU, NAND, Touch IC’s etc. So it’s always important to do a full cleaning procedure. CHG_ACT_DIO will go low (0V) when it detects something in the charge port. When that happens, VCC_MAIN & BATT_VCC are connected together via Q1403 and battery charging occurs. The phone will work regardless of the logic level of CHG_ACT_DIO. Is the phone working properly except for the charging issue (to this problem is board fully working (i can power on board))?
