I replaced the screen on my wifes iphone 5s after replacing the screen when plugged in it says it is charging but the battery power isn’t going up. If I unclip the screen from the case (with the 2 screws removed and using a suction cup) and plug inthe charger the phone charges no problem with the bottom at the home button just slightly raised and the top of the screen where it should be. The screen I replaced it with was a complete screen with home button and camera etc I swapped over the home button and the back plate from the screen with the original ones and still the same. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
You should always swap over the Home button if you want to retain TouchID functionality. I would try to put back the original screen, including a Home Button (even if it is the replacement one), to see if you have a similar effect. I suspect the replacement screen may be sitting incorrectly and applying pressure on the Lightning Dock, which would cause charging problems. Hopefully, the Lightning Dock was not damaged by the replacement screen or your work otherwise it will need replacing too.
