I recently replaced the battery of my iPhone 5S. It has been working very well since than and i had no issues. Last time I dropped my phone from around 1-2 feet. It seemed to me as though the display came out a little bit on the right up corner. I decided to open the phone again, to place the screen in the corrected position. I only disconnnected the touch ID sensor flex cabel and other than that closed it again after correcting the screen position and reconnectig the touch ID sensor. The phone booted normally everything was working as expected. It was even connecting and sharing data to the PC. But it will not charge despite that the iphone shows the charging icon in the status bar. I recognized that when i dont use the phone to much (3G off, batter-saver mode) and being connected to usb that the battery wont be drained even after hours. I guess that the logic board gets power from the usb conncetion. But it somehow wont charge the battery. I even replaced the battery with another one. I had a hardreset and a complete restore of the phone. Changed cables and chargers… Is this a problem with the logic board? I was wearing a sweater back than, might there be a discharge the cause? I dont know anymore what to do. Please give me suggestions that could solve my problem. Thank you for reading this very long paragraph. If any other information is needed to help, please ask!

Hello, I have nearly the same problem. But there is a little difference. When I open the Display from the phone and leave all the cables attached, than the battery gets charged!! when I assemble the display back, than the phone just show me the charging icon, but won´t charge the battery. What could it be? Thank you Serkan

I would look into sending it out for repair (eBay) or replacing the U2 charging IC if you are capable of doing so yourself.
