Hiya, I have an iPhone 5s which I got off eBay. The water damage indicators were set off and the device won’t go past the apple logo. I have tried the logic board in a working 5s but it still boot loops (so its not the charger port etc etc). I’ve soaked it in isopropyl alcohol but it still doesn’t seem to want to boot. I can put it into DFU mode and it stays connected to itunes, but during the restore it will bootloop. Anyone have any idea on anything else I can try. I can’t see any obvious damage on the board but its worthless to me so if anyone has any idea then I’d appreciate it.
When liquid damage is involved there could be a zillion things involved. Many Pros don’t take liquid damaged phones for repairs unless it’s for data recovery. First thing to be done would be to remove all EMI shields to achieve a decent cleaning, ultrasonic bath would be recommendable. If after that the phone still bootloops, only thorough testing can give some indications about damage.
