Hello, after the ios11 i have huge problems with my iphone 5s. Before iOS11, my phone was usable for at least 12h. I was charging it every night. After the update, I’ve got many issues with the phone and after 2-3 weeks it was able to hold max 1-2 hours at idle on battery. I’ve checked the battery life and it was at 65%. So I bought brand new original battery, replaced it and now it hold up for like 6-7 hours at idle. I’ve tried to reset, to update but no success. I’m using original charger from HTC and ANKER cable, and I checked it and it’s charging with 0.9 - 1 Amp. Is there anything I can do to fix phone. Could this be hardware or software problem?

Check your iPhone battery health using one of these methods:

  • Windows: 3Utools
  • Mac: CoconutBattery
  • iOS: Battery Life app You may need to backup your phone via iTunes, restore the iPhone then restore the iPhone backup from iTunes to fix the rapid battery drain issue. Note that restoring the phone wipes the data on the phone.

I have to agree, I first got this phone and it came with iOS 11. Cheap phone for 80$, so I couldn’t risk it! Got the phone, didn’t come with a charger. All in all, purchased a new battery for 10$ and I have seen better improvements on the battery but not by much. Only by an hour and a half. It has to do with the update. My phone gets warm when running all apps. And that means the battery is overpowering and it has to much data to handle. (At least what I think.) even when people give me a suggestion to power my phone off every time I use it — well, by the time it reaches 40% battery life remaining and I power it off, just because of that single power off, it will shut down completely and say it’s dead… this is totally apples fault.

Make sure 2 things a) you have updated to iOS 11.2.0 b) make sure you have updated the youtube app and facebook app

I got a cheap 5s for the camera, my first Apple product, but I’m experiencing what I heard millions of times. Planned obsolescence. P.S. I tried many things suggested to save battery life, including restore initial settings, but it’s the OS.
