Okay so my iPhone 5c touch started acting up a few weeks back, it would stop working for a few moments, you lock it wait a minute and it would suddenly work again. Fast forward a few days I updated the software and shortly after the touch screen became 100% unresponsive. I’ve done all the “reset, restore” instructions I could find and nothing helped, I thought maybe I needed a new screen so I ordered a new display kit online. It came in today and I very carefully took everything apart and installed the new screen, it powered on perfectly fine, the picture is perfect but the screen is still completely unresponsive! I’ve taken it apart again several times to check connections and such and I can’t see any reason it shouldn’t be working. Does anyone know how to fix this?!

The iPhone 5C is prone to all kinds of logic board issues, particularly the loss of touch, caused by micro-fractures. On the iPhone 6Plus, we call this Touch Disease. However, the 5C can also suffer this due to the weaker, plastic housing. The same flexing issues can affect the 5C. Beyond checking the condition of the connectors on the logic board, I would have to assume that the Touch IC’s need to be replaced on your device. This is requires micro-soldering and is not DIY. If you would like to fix your device, you will need to find an experienced repair shop that does micro-soldering repairs.
