Hello I have an iphone 5 which is water damaged I’ve soaked it into a bath of isopropyl alcohol during a night After drying i’ve tried to test it but nothings happened only the motherboard is heating up.. Could you help me ?
heat = a short on the board. You need to desolder the EMI shields in order to expose most of the board. Find the components that are oxidized–reflow the solder on those components and replace those that are damaged. clean flux, wash again, dry, assemble with new battery into a test housing and see what you get. If this isn’t feasible, then send it out for a professional water damage repair—be sure to ask if the company plans to follow the steps outlined above, otherwise it will be the same as you’ve already done. jessa
