I replaced the charger and audio port also installed a new screen on my iphone 5. During a voice call no one can hear me. I can hear them. They can hear me when the speaker is turned on and siri works. Any answers would be great! Cheers.
I would say that you installed a bad charging dock and you need to replace it. But to rule out other things, you can try: -First hard-rebooting your phone. If it does not help, -Disconnect the battery then using a magnifying glass, examine the board where the charging dock cable connects to the board. See if anything is missing or damaged;
- If nothing is damaged, clean the connectors using a cotton swab dipped in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol);
- Reseat the cable and make sure it is firmly connected (be gentle);
- Reconnect the battery, connect to WiFi to adjust date and time, and try the mic again.
- Sometimes the new charging dock comes with a small piece of foil covering the mic. Make sure you removed the foil and properly inserted the mic in its rubber tip that in turn fits into a small whole - look at the relevant guide for pictures and details. In case you disconnected the logic board during the initial repair, do the same for Power-Mute-Volume cable that connects on the top of the logic board next to the 3 cables of the screen assembly. Don’t try removing the cable from the frame, just disconnect it, clean the tip and where it sits, then reconnect and last reconnect the battery.
