Hello, Recently my iPhone 4 stopped holding it’s charge while plugged into my computers. I have tried different USB ports on my work computer and my laptop at home and encounter the same problem. I used the same cable for all occasions. It will however hold charge once its plugged into the power adapter. I have made a few repairs to the iPhone but I don’t believe i’ve moved the Dock Connector, so it may be a problem with the Battery? I also lost my Pressure Contact (The clasp that goes over the battery connector) and had the iPhone running for a few weeks… not too sure if that will cause any damage? I found it a couple days ago and put it back in… no change. I am considering replacing both the Dock Connector and Battery but I would like to try and solve the mystery first :) Any thoughts/recommendations?

Dradeel, sounds like the battery to me. The AC adapter supplies about 1 amp to the phone when charging, compared to the USB port’s 500mA. I’d start with the battery and make sure your contacts are clean and appropriately seated. If that does not help, then you can look at the dock connector as well as charging circuit. Hope this helps, good luck.
