The phone gets stuck on the Apple Logo for 20 secs then turns it self off. I have tried restoring, updated it, etc. When restoring it shows the progress bar but as soon as its done it just goes back to same issue. I have also entered my phone into DFU mode and doing a complete restore with no luck. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It is more than likely that you need a new battery :-)

Hi there, try these steps: Connect the iPhone’s USB cable to your computer, but not your iPhone. Turn your iPhone off. If the phone won’t turn off in the traditional manner, just keep holding the buttons until the screen goes dark. Once you’ve turned the device off, press the home button on the face of the device and plug in the USB cable to the device’s dock connector. When it turns on, keep pressing the home button until the iTunes logo appears on the screen. You’ll know the phone is now in recovery mode because a window in iTunes will tell you. You can then start the restore process by clicking the “Restore” button in the iTunes window. Hope this fixes the issue.

Try a new battery

i went to the apple store and they said mine was water damaged. to know if it is or not, look in the headphone jack and shine a light down it and see if the bottom is red. do the same to the charger jack. if they are red, water is in your phone, if it is no color, there is no water damage. but since they said mt phone had some damage i decided to still try this. and i worked so even if they tell you you have it, still try everything until you are possitive it wont turn bck on. :)

Hi, I have encountered the same problem. Finally I successfully solve it with FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery. Try this first: In most cases, you can solve these problems by putting the phone into recovery mode and restoring it from backup. To do that, follow these instructions:

  1. Connect the iPhone’s USB cable to your computer, but not your iPhone.
  2. Turn your iPhone off. If the phone won’t turn off in the traditional manner, just keep holding the buttons until the screen goes dark.
  3. Once you’ve turned the device off, press the home button on the face of the device and plug in the USB cable to the device’s dock connector.
  4. When it turns on, keep pressing the home button until the iTunes logo appears on the screen.
  5. You’ll know the phone is now in recovery mode because a window in iTunes will tell you.
  6. You can then start the restore process by clicking the “Restore” button in the iTunes window. Hope it can help you.

plug the iPhone charger in to your laptop/computer then press the lock button for 10 seconds then press the home button for 15 seconds

I had the same problem so I called apple and changing the charger fixed it!:)

Maybe this will be helpful:

Iphones check to see if there are any non apple components after an upgrade. Non OEM batteries are the target. If you have replaced your battery the phone will work fine until you do a software upgrade. When you do the upgrade, shortly after your phone will detect a non OEM battery and shut down completely. You will get one of two responses. A completely dead screen or, when the charger is plugged in, apple logo and nothing else. You can get Itunes to recognise the phone but it will refuse to do a restore. Replace the battery with an OEM battery and the phone will be back to noemal. Don’t we love Apple!

B I just fixed my friend’s iphone 4. I have tried 10 times but there was no chance to be successfully restore. Finaly, what am i doing is get a plastic bag, put your iphone into it, and put the plastic bag in the freezer. Make sure there is no water in the plastic bag. After that, just watch your tv, play your game or do anything else for about 1 hour. After that, don’t waste your time, don’t wait till it’s hot, don’t wait anything just restore it, and may God bless your iphone. It worked for me, and my friend just speechless because he nearly wanted to waste a lot of money to service his iphone. Good luck with that, hopefully this may be useful. My suggestion, don’t use iphone :). Thank you
