Yesterday I dropped my phone, and it was working fine when I picked it up to check it, but a few minutes later the screen went black. I know it was still working, because I was still receiving phone calls, texts, and mail. I even took a picture with it. I’ve tried holding the home and lock button. I also tried holding the lock button while constantly pressing the home button, but I think the problem with this is that my home button barely worked before the drop. I’ve tried to reset it and put it in DFU mode, but nothing is working. :( Note that I can’t take it to the shop because it’s jailbroken.

You may have bumped the LCD connector off in the drop. Removing the rear glass is easy, and you won’t have to do anything fiddly like removing screws inside the phone. You’ll need a pentalobe screwdriver to remove the back, but that’s it. Follow the Display Assembly Replacement guide and skip to the step that shows the LCD connector. The LCD connector should be second from the left. (The digitizer is on top of it.) Just give it a good push to seat it back in place and then retest your phone.

Don’t panic at all. If the screen is black, but you can still hear sound and the phone still works, just do this: Hold down the home and lock buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds and you’ll see the Apple logo. This will work 100%—unless there is something seriously wrong. I hope I’ve helped!

just put it upside down and give a smack on its back and it will work

Quick Solution: My iPhone is the same, i can here that its working and can use Siri to text and make all my calls, but the screen is completely black until it randomly came back one day. Now the same issue has happened again this is the 3rd time actually but I’ve figured out a way which fixes it instantly… . Just hold the home button and tell Siri to turn up your screen brightness and its back! . Only works for Iphone 4+ you may also need IOS7. So connect to computer and update then try again. Hope this has helped some of you.

1.Hold the Power button for 3 seconds 2.Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds 3.Then the Apple Logo appears, and everything works as usual First hold power button for 3 sec and dont relase it! and after 3 sec hold power and home buttons for 10 sec. For 5 sec u must see Apple logo. If u dont see the Apple logo try go to the specialist. If u see Enjoy working i phone5!

This will sound absolutely ridiculous, trust me I thought it was. My daughter tried everything she could find online & had given up a week prior to me fixing the issue clean debris, hold power button & home button, different charging ports ,etc. .. I literally switched her vibrate button on the side back & forth a couple of times & the phone began charging right up . It won’t fix everyone’s but it can’t hurt to try. I still can hardly believe it was that simple.

Even I too had a problem of screen blank, however, all the functions were working but no display. Remedy was held the lock & button for few seconds and it became ok. The problem was,it was gone to sleep mode due to too many applications were open. To close the many applications, just click two times of home button and swipe upward all the applications. thats it. If you cannot hard restart due to faulty buttons just disconnect and reconnect the battery if screen is still black then it’s either screen is not connected correctly or it’s faulty

I tried the home and lock button solution- it worked! Thank you. Lionel

Just hold the home button and the power button for 15 sec and then the apple logo will show up like in 5 sec or more but the logo stays there for a while then it starts working

Even though it is jailbroken, Apple still has to service it for any hardware issues. If you can reseat the LCD and digitizer cable, that may fix the issue. Otherwise it probably needs a new screen assembly. While you’re at it, might as well fix the home button too while you’re down there. But if it’s in warranty, Apple should replace it for free unless it is clearly physically damaged. Pat iFix SB

You can check the internal connectors beneath EMI shield if they are properly connected or not. If not they you may need to order a new replacement screen and replace it by watching some online YouTube tutorials.

Holding the home button down and lock screen button for ages worked for me! had to do it twice, but its good now

take down the screen to see whethere the cable is broken or get loose. if not . maybe the screen is broken.

I take the battery out blow the inside and put the battery back in. An easy way to fix the screen

This same thing happened to me and none of these options work so I took the back off and took the battery and display connectors off then plugged it back in and it turned on. if you have questions text me at 513-815-8107
