Yup, I’m embarrassed. I’m finishing a rebuild for an iPhone 4, and I have an extra metal part…looks to be a cover with two screw holes. It’s not the contact clip. Here are two pictures of the piece: http://i57.tinypic.com/1znbepy.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/21ltpu1.jpg Any help is appreciated!
Hi Jody, Thats the contact clip that goes around the mute on/off switch on the side of the handset. You’ll find that it doesnt work as when you switch the mute button across, the little hook shape part pulls another hard switch internally. Can always adjust the volume settings internally via the phone settings if you cant be bothered stripping it down again. Cheers
