Chosen Solution

Hello friends, Yesterday morning, I have to experience a weird behavior of my ipad mini2. Day before yesterday night my ipad mini 2 was at 12% charge and I was trying to install the ios 11 (developer beta version), the download of the software happened in less than 10 mins and since my ipad was connected to a wall adapter, the system allowed to install the software (even though the charge is 12% but still connected to wall adapter). I was seeing that the update was taking almost 20 mins with the progress bar showing the loading. I fell asleep and woke up after 4 hours to see that my ipad was showing an apple logo and was bit hot. (Not too hot rather). After that I removed the cable and it showed me the connected to charger logo!!!

Looked like battery drained, but I connected to the charger and the ipad was showing that the device is charging (black screen with battery icon in middle with red line at the base of the battery icon - the screen before the ipad starts)

After 15 to 20 mins, the apple logo is appearing and AND STUCK AT THAT LEVEL AND MAKING THE DEVICE LITTLE HOT AS IT PROGRESSES and when removed, it is coming back to the connect to charger logo… I do not want to have it charged for a very long time since not sure if it might affect the battery. I left the device untouched for a day and I even tried performing the above cases today morning and it is still the same. I guess it should not be a hardware issue since, charging an ipad for 4 hours with device stuck at apple logo continuously (due to update interruption) should not affect the battery or charging IC for such a branded product like apple. I cannot do DFU/Restore or do anything now since if I connect the device to macbook, it is showing the charging symbol in the ipad (black screen with battery icon in middle with red line at the base of the battery icon) and itunes and the mac is not detecting the device. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME TO GET BACK MY IPAD TO WORKING CONDITION PLEASE?

With this problem still persisting , I tried to connecting to mac with no hope and luckily, my phone started to turn on with the Upgrade Complete.. Get started screen :) It opened with ios11 on it but with reported usual issues, so i downgraded to iOS 10.3.2 and it is pin perfect now… (may be since I upgraded to latest itunes which made to detect ipad in ios11…

Contact the Beta Team and tell them the problem. In the future I’d advise not installing any Beta software unless you have a genuine need for doing so or you actually are a developer. Always be prepared before installing any Beta software that you can restore your device. This type of software used to be reserved for Apple professionals. i would install ii on a drive or machine that could be throw in the trash.

I had the same problem. After trying all the chargers & cables that I have, I plugged the charging cable into the USB port of a computer and my iPad started to charge normally. It charged to 100% after a while. I am enjoying iOS 11.

To charge the iPad has earned, first you need to connect the lightning to the ipad connector, and then plug the charging into the socket.

Had problem of iPad not charging past 1% and would turn on then off again. My daughter had loaded a game and started having this problem, as well as leaving multiple apps open and not closing them. After charging overnite, it still had only 1%. I was able to get it to open long enough to force close all the apps before it shut down again. But, once the apps were closed, the iPad began to charge past the 1%. We’ll see if this continues, but it might help if you can get the iPad to open long enough to close all apps. Hope this helps!

Please help.. support.apple.com/iphone/restore showing after i upgrade to ios 11. Downgrade to ios 9.3.1 is not happening. I tried both restore and update but still the same boot screen. help.

I had the same problem, BUT: First connect the lightning to your iPad, after that the USB in the power socket. This worked for me!
