Hello everyone. I’ve just purchased a used iPad first generation which has some interesting things to it. On the back of the Box it says “iPad WiFi 16GB - DEMO-FRD” and it doesn’t have the same part number as normal ones have. It’s got part number MC642FD/A. But: it doesn’t have the engraving “Demo - not for resale” on the back, it’s just got a normal housing with matching Serial-No. to the box. Does someone know, if this is a real Demo-Device? Thanks in advance

It sounds like a preview unit which was handed out to a reviewer or writer to compose 3rd party documentation. A store demo unit would be locked into a preprogramed demo. Apple Store units had real systems which where tethered and locked to the stores WiFi network.
