Hi All, A couple of weeks ago i replaced the screen on an iPhone 6, when i got it back together i found the home button was unresponsive. I thought may have damaged the ribbon cable so ordered a new one along with a new home button just in case. On fitting the new cable to the phone i found i couldn’t get the phone to turn on and only disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after refitting the original cable got the phone powered up again. I tried combinations of new cable, old button and old cable, new button but fell into the same problem of not being able to turn the phone on with any of the replacement parts. The only thing i could do was refit all the original parts to get it working, yet the home button is still unresponsive. I’ve activated the assitive touch to get the home button on the screen but it’s not ideal. Any ideas???

Martin, he means you need to use the original because it is the only one that will allow the fingerprint sensor to work. The fingerprint sensor is married to the CPU, you cannot buy a replacement. If you have damaged the original then I’m sorry to say you have lost your fingerprint sensor for good. At this point, I would put the original cable back and the original screen back, remove all stripped screws and replace with brand new and I would take it back to Apple and tell them the home button does not work and then they will replace it

DO NOT replace the home button, ALWAYS use the button with the original logic board. Order a new cable and try again.

My Flex Cable is Broken I want to change in, Can it affect on my Sensor ?

As I remember there is a BIOS that checks all the part numbers in the phone I’m not sure if you can buy apple parts but I would only use apple parts to fix BECAUSE I broke the home button flex ribbon cable on my I 6 plus and I got some aftermarket cable also a heat shield with cable and none worked wouldnt boot up at all so find orginal parts wouldnprobably solve your problem. As for mine I’m having to send it in on warranty with all my info still on phone . I hope its dead forever.
