Hi! I really need help - I just had to reformat my MacBook and updated to 10.6. I have everything backed up on an external drive, but cannot figure out how to import my imovie projects, firefox bookmarks, stickies, and iTunes playlists. Is this possible? I did not back-up with Time Machine…
For Firefox (and Thunderbird) you can find the application support folder on your backup drive. There you find the profile files. It is important to only copy the contents of these folders. On your main machine you will have to start up Firefox (and Thunderbird if you use it) once. They create a new profile folder with a random string. Copy the contents of your old profile in there and you’ll be done. Not shure about iTunes (sigh).
If you backed using Time Machine, go to Applications - Utilities folder - Migration Assistant and run it and select your User Data.
