Pushing the white levers outward to pop out the RAM has now failed - the chips are still embedded in their respective slots. I fear that repeated insertion and removal of the RAM has eroded the plastic which would eject the chips. What should I do to remove and insert the RAM?

My question is why you are ejecting the RAM that much. And why do you feel you need to do it again? To get it out get a friend with a small pair of needle nose pliers. While one of you pushes on the levers the other grasps just the edge of the where no cuicuits or chips a re and gentle pulls. Then make a decision and put the correct RAM back in one last time and leave it alone.
