Picked up this White Imac 17" for $20.00, seller said Imac was dead….first boot went to screen with some artifacts and then it freeze. Try resetting PRAM and SMC…still same effects, I booted into safe mode and everything works perfect, no issues whatsoever, rebooted to normal, same issues as before. I figured that maybe a bad driver, so I started loading OSX Lion from my USB drive, everything looked fine during installation, no artifacts whatsoever, but when the final reboot to enter for the first time, back to artifacts and freezing….any help would be appreciated.
I think you’ll need to locate a copy of Snow Leopard (10.6.8) as this model does not support 64bit mode. Give that a try.
