My iMac EMC 2308 has a Hitachi hard drive in it. When I searched it up here, the only brands that are sold are Seagate and WD. But it also says that I have to use the same brand that was in it. “Important: To ensure compatibility with the 2009 and 2010 21.5” or 27" iMac, the replacement hard drive must be of the same brand as the original. The model number of the hard drive does not matter as long as the brand matches. 2011 and up iMacs cannot be supported by us." So if I buy a WD and try to install it, will it not work? Also, what if I wanted to install a 2TB instead of a 1TB which is what was currently in the machine?
