Just received a new iPad 6th Gen digitizer from iFixit to replace my partner’s shattered one. On the original digitizer, the digitizer’s flex cables were adhered to the digitizer’s inner surface (across the copper border), as shown in this picture (I pulled them up to be certain):

However, on the new one, the flex cables are not adhered…and, while there appears to be adhesive strips on the inside of the flex cables, the backing material is still on the side that would adhere to the digitizer, as shown in this picture

Should I remove the “tesa®” imprinted backing material and adhere the flex cable to the digitizer before I install the digitizer, or just go ahead and reinstall? TIA, Troy

And, since I needed to get this done before dinner (because the table was my workspace for today), I did a quick search online and found a video that showed the flex cables being adhered to the digitizer before reassembly. Resolved.
