I have a month old battery replacement I purchased for my Macbook. The battery can be at any larger state of charge, go to sleep, and then instantly report a 7% charge upon waking. Here’s a screenshot of the Activity Monitor to show the instant drop off (notice the vertical line in the battery state of charge in the bottom right):
Is the battery shorting out somehow? Is it something I can repair?
Unless you had similar problems with your old battery, nothing should cause such a sharp drop except a faulty battery..ask for replacement.
And did the replacement fix the problem?
