I was fiddling with the MacBook’s mainboard, and accidentally damage one of the components. The one that has a marking “220 | 6NF3E | d” I assume it’s a diode of some sort, but that is the limit of my knowledge. Now I wonder what the proper replacement would be. Thank you.

OK, so that explains the image is not the area of your damaged system. It would be helpful if you did offer the area so we can ID the area affected, which can let lead us to what’s shorting out. First i would snag the schematics and boardview drawings for your system do a google search for 820-00239 which is the logic boards number. Then you should be able to trace back the logic to isolate what has failed/shorted.
