I too did the same thing with Chip U16 in your diagram posted in the other thread. My cable was really difficult to get unplugged and in all the struggle to get it loose, I knocked it off. I was told by 2 differnent cell phone repair places today that only apple can fix it or it just can’t be fixed. I would like to get it repaired. I don’t mind having Apple doing the repair, but I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg. Any suggestions out there? I also messed up a few pins on one of the display connectors but I figure its not as hard of a fix, but I could be wrong. Anyone know what this chip does, if there is a need for replacement, if one is available, and if there is a solution? Is there anyone out there that is willing to tackle this repair?
Daniel Lunsford, Apple does not really do repairs. They may offer you trade in for a new phone. The only way this could be fixed by a total reball. Not knowing where you are located, I’d be looking at shops that can do reballs. It could of course cost you more than a new phone, but you’ll never know until you ask.
alibaba express has the chip for $6 will balls attached. I have a phone same problem , but the keyboard occasionally does self inputs, wonder if the missing compass is related to this
This is your compass. It appears that the solder pads on your logic board is pulled off so it is likely that it is already beyond repair.
