Mac Mini 2018 8 gb comes with 2 x 4GB memory modules. I want to update to 16 GB. Is better 2 x 8GB single rank or 1 x 16GB dual rank or is it the same? Thanks

Check under the Apple to about this Mac > memory and see what is actually installed. I should be just one 8 GB RAM Type:PC4-21300 DDR4Min. RAM Speed:2666 MHz Details:Supports 2666 MHz PC4-21300 DDR4 SO-DIMMs (260-pin). Standard RAM:8 GBMaximum RAM:64 GB Details:This system ships with a single 8 GB memory module by default.

This model supports as much as 64 GB of RAM using two 32 GB modules. Here’s how to change it: Mac mini Late 2018 Memory (RAM) Replacement
