So I acidentaly inserted my sim ejector tool into the top Mic hole - Could I have damaged the waterproofing or the Microphone itself? Is there any way to test the top microphone?

Yes. You could have done quite a lot of damage. I doubt the “water proofing” is damaged, but you could have punctured the microphone. I would say, do a phone call, or just install a recording app on your phone then play it back. If you damaged it in any way, it will sound BAD or completely inaudible.

Dont listen to anyone here the mic on top is off at an angle so it won’t puncher the waterproofing nor the mic if you need proof watch the note 9 teardown on a YouTube channel called jerryrigeverything he explained that the mic and waterproofing is of at an angle so even if you stick it in it wont break or damage anything.

Ask anybody that says yes that you damaged it, the mesh, or the rubber gasket, if they’ve actually had a phone apart and seen the sim popper/paper clip inserted and actually what it came in contact with. Most people that say something’s damage has never seen the internals of the phone with this inaction.

@flait111 thank you for indirectly helping. Your accidental poking of the microphone slot with the sim ejector tool helped me with my “muted” microphone problem. Apparently, it was being clogged by debris. Gently scooping 80%of it out w the sim ejector tool was more helpful than blowing into it as adviced by a lot of online note8 users, then following it up by gently brushing it w a soft bristle.
