I have seen ants on my mac and I’m assuming they are inside it, I want to see how badly infiltrated it is before taking it somewhere and paying for it. How do I take it apart to look without ruining it? Or do you just surest to take it straight to the shop?

Did you have any food around your system? I would first clear the area of any and give a area a good spray of a good household insecticide. Make sure to remove your Mac and stuff from the area before spraying, Get a large plastic bag your mac will fit into. Place your Mac inside and then spray a paper towel lightly (you don’t what it wet!) with the insecticide place the towel at the bottom of the bag (not touching the system) for a few hours. That should kill any ants inside (creating a micro fogger). As far as the dead ant bodies inside a few won’t be a problem. I doubt you had many (if any) get inside as theres just nothing in there that would tempt them (unless you had food nearby). What size were they very small (sugar ants) or your standard sized ones? As the openings aren’t that large for the big guys to get in. With a can of air you could try blowing out any you see after opening up the system covers. You’ll find the guides from here to follow for each of your systems. Again, I don’t think you’ll find any and a few won’t hurt your system.
