I need to replace the battery on my iPhone5. I want a true Apple OEM battery. I don’t want to take chances on a 3rd party Li-ion battery, which can be very tricky to manufacture. Remember the exploding Sony batteries? Are the batteries sold by iFixit true OEM batteries? Are ANY of the non-Apple replacement batteries really OEM? or will I have to spend $80 at Apple to get their battery?
Most of the OEM battery comes from Apple Store or old iPhone dismantling.
Mfg. Date is very important. You don’t want an old battery.
Aloke, Yes, if you do want OEM, then you will have to pay the Apple price. They are the only ones that have and sell OEM. Stick with iFixit, the quality is good and the service is par none if you ever have any problems.
I think I will use ifixit batteries as I got them from China and luckily it did not explode . Phone got very hot. After 3 months use it just died.
