I get “Lens Error” message, when turning ON, and at the same time, the lens comes out and back in. ?
Had the same issue on my Canon PowerShot s100, it started like that and now the lens is completely stuck in the open position. I haven’t fix it yet, but here I found a link to a webpage with very useful tips on how to try solving the “Lens error” issue, the good thing is it applies to virtually any camera manufacturer. Just remember that some of these methods (1-5) are unharmful, while others could damage the camera even more, so proceed in the steps at your own risk.
