I have a 2012 model macbook pro that is dead. It has a 256 GB jet drive and I was wondering if it was possible to use that on my mid 2009. Is the RAM transferable? Anything that I can/ should move over to my old Macbook Pro?
Sorry, very different architectures nothing is transferable. The 2012 retina system you have for parts uses a blade SSD which won’t work in your SATA based 2009 MacBook Pro, The retina systems RAM is soldered to the logic board so it can’t be salvaged either. In steady of trying to steal parts from this system how about seeing if you can fix it. What is the status of the system? The more details the better, maybe a few pics if that helps explain things.
