Hi, I dropped a new macbook pro when unloading the car after a skitrip. It was in a protective cushion, but it fell on a corner and I think it hit the harder zipper area of the casing (the zipper area also broke there). The fall slightly deformed not the bottom case of the laptop, but the case that holds the keyboard, touchpad, etc… The casing got deformed just around the aux port so that I can’t plug headphones in anymore. I don’t know if it also broke the aux port itself, but I would think not.
Does anybody know how hard I F’d up or is it quite possible to replace this casing?
Thank you for any help!!
Ouch! Did you take out AppleCare+ extended warranty? If you did that will be your cheapest way to get this fixed. Getting the uppercase replaced is also possible. You’ll need to get the correct version based on the keyboard you are using, as an example review this listing [B661-12993|13” MacBook Pro - Top Case & KB UK] you’ll need to contact TheBookYard to find out when they expect new stock of the version you need. I’ll warn you it will likely be awhile! If you can live with the damage you could get a USB-C to headphone jack DAC adapter so you can plug in a headset or external speakers.
