As said in the title, I’d like to say that I was pretty cautious throughout the whole repair, and there is no visible damage on the part itself. Is it possible that it’s a faulty part or could it possibly have been my own mistake? I know there’s a similar question which suggests that the cable could be the one at fault and how things like these are ‘common’.
You may be referring to my answer from a few days ago… But yes, the first thing to suspect is either an improper installation or a faulty replacement part. Double check your work by following this guide. If everything looks good, then consider getting another charge port.
