Mist Mathews, “some letters will appear if turn the tablet " sounds like a bad digitizer. As always, you want to try a hard reset first. Download the instruction manual from here to see how to do that. If that does not work, you will need to replace the digitizer. Not the same model, but the same idea in this video.
