I’ve spent 2 days trying to remove the 2 pentalobe screws on my 8 Plus, I’ve tried the super glue method, the soldering method, the rubber band, etc. I’ve researched on youtube and asked a lot of people on reddit, no answers. Would it be safe if I opened the screen from the top first then snip off the 2 things holding the screws or just force it off? I have a replacement screen and pentalobe screws already.

Sometimes applying upward pressure on the screen with a pry tool while you try to unscrew the screws works. As per Ben’s question, are they spinning or not turning because the pentalobe recess is stripped? You have to be very careful at this point because if you force the screen too much, you could damage the Home Button or HB flex or even possibly rip off the connectors from the logic board. You could try bring the phone to a reputable shop. Maybe they have some tricks they can apply to get the screws off.
