i was updating my mac to the newest version when i cut it off during the installation process (dumb idea i know) but when i tried to log back in it kept restarting and saying that there was a problem?? called apple support and they couldn’t help either.

Do you have the original hard drive and/or hard drive cable in it? As your Mac restarts, hold down the Command (⌘) – R combination immediately upon hearing the startup chime. Hold the keys until the Apple logo appears. Run Disk Utility first, then try reinstalling the system.
