Should I buy a new one? which one? Thanks guys!
You’re ID covers 12 different machines, spanning 4 years, could you narrow it down a lot more? The early models only support 3GB/s SATA drives (faster wont work). The later models support 6GB/s SATA drives and slower ones won’t work. You may have the wrong speed drive, or, a bad SATA cable. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
