I am trying to connect my speakers to my xbox one s directly because my tv doesn’t have an audio port. But my xbox does and it won’t recognize the speakers unless i plug them into the controller.

Have the same issue with my Xbox 1x. My monitor has a headphone jack and audio in. Tried both and neither work and it only works through my controller.
