My iMac has a Western Digitial HDD. I’d like to find a hybrid hdd but I’m having trouble finding if one is supported. Can you help me find a hybrid HDD for my 2133 iMac?
I really like the 1 TB Western Digital VelociRaptor: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products…. It is pretested and REALLY shows a noticeable increase in speed. The cost is about double what a cheap drive runs but well worth it in my opinion.
In my iMac 2133 I have replaced the original 320GB Seagate hard drive with a 1TB hybrid drive, also from Seagate, model ST1000DX001 (which is a 3,5", 7200 rpm drive with 8GB of SSD cache). Works perfectly, no adapter required, extremely fast.
