My Humax digital video recorder is not responding to the remote control, batteries not at fault, replacement remote still does not communicate with recorder, will not record, cannot access to format hard drive. model is PVR9300T Have purchased the latest new model, it is a SMART device, and not as user friendly as the old device. I really need the old one fixing. Humax not interested.
Hi @notknown2giveup , Have you tried using the PVR control buttons to operate the recorder, you didn’t say? Looking at p.GB9 of the user manual, on the front of the recorder (behind a drop down panel?) there is a menu button and the arrow navigation buttons plus the OK button (see # 4 & 5) that should allow you to navigate through the different menus and select the appropriate function, setting etc Here’s the user manual UM-PVR9300T(UK)_400GB_09-0626.pdf If this works this proves that the problem is related to just the IR reception section of the recorder (as you have replaced the remote) e.g a faulty IR receiver perhaps and not something more. An interim workaround but it maybe better than nothing as there’s not much information out there regarding service manuals, parts lists etc.
