I bought this laptop second hand, and since purchase it has run very loud and hot all the time. It has also developed a rattle around the heatsint and fan which makes me suspicious of a lose screw. I’ve never taken a laptop apart before, but think it might be necessary to get inside to remove the rattle and give the fan and heatsink a really good clean. Is this hard, and can anyone offer me any advice on doing this? Thanks,

I havent disassembled this particular HP, but the one I have opened have been quite straight forward. Remove batteryUndo all the screws at the bottomLook for screws on the sideLook once more for screws in placesTry to openRemind yourself not to use forceLook for point where it hangs, look after screws or clipsDecide to use forcebreak a clipput back together If you are patient it is very possible to avoid step 8 and 9! Have fun! If you don’t find a lose screw the rattle is probably from the fan itself.
