That laptop is too old to run Windows 7 with 100% device compatibility. Since it’s a factory XP machine and it’s from HP, they didn’t really bother trying to make Vista work since many of those would never run Vista well, or without serious compatibility problems. Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend Windows 7 on something so old - beyond 1 Windows release with old drivers is when you begin having problems - and Vista did break that, since many XP drivers didn’t work in Vista. By the time 7 was released, this thing was more or less EOL for HP.
