I have tried everything to get it to work even downloading another driver for the microphone nothing worked… PLEASE HELP ASAP
Hi, The only mic I see in the documentation for that model is in the webcam assembly at the top of the display bezel. The webcam was an optional purchase on that model. Does the webcam itself work? Because if it does not then either it is not there or not working, and in either case the mic would not work. If the webcam is working, is the internal microphone showing up in Control Panel > Sound > Recording? Have you selected it? Is this the driver you have installed, (It is the latest for your laptop and is only up to Win7)? http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/1… There is this link which allows you to do an online diagnostic check on your hardware, select microphone. http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/1… What OS is the laptop using? Dell does not support Win10 in this laptop.
If the camera/microphone is physically not installed, you can purchase a USB webcam and connect it to your laptop so that you can use Skype etc.(make sure it has a built in microphone)
