Is there a way to test the ps4 fan to know if it works without putting the whole system back together? I have the fan out of my ps4 right now and I want to know if I need to order a new one
The first test would just be to spin the fan and see if it spins freely. Most faulty fans have a bearing that goes bad. If you spin it and it doesn’t spin completely free then it may have a problem. Did the fan work before you took it apart? You just have to put it together enough to test it…so the heat sink and metal plate, motherboard, power supply and top metal plate have to go to test it. Hope this helps.
The ps4 has a thermal sensor near the cpu which turns on the fans when the sensor reaches a certain temperature. When it gets hot enough, the fan turns on until it is cooled down, then shut off again.
My ps4 slim is overheating I use my tools to open up to clean all the dust out and the fan around it so I retested it out and it runs about a min and then starts to over heat again I’m thinking it’s the thermal paste because everything else is clean and the fan do spin when the it’s open but it’s stops spinning and the ps4 starts to over heat where can I get it replace
My fan doesn’t spin properly when the ps4 is disassembled so would that mean I need a new one in order to stop the ps4 from overheating
