Does anyone have a video that can instruct me how to take off the back of my Note 4 so I can get to the circuit bd. to dry out and clean components.
Hi, Here is a link to the ifixit guide to repair your phone Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Repair. Do not turn on the phone and then disconnect the battery as soon as possible, as the liquid conducts electrical current and this may further damage the phone, by providing circuit paths for the current that are not in the phone’s operating design. Also the liquid contains impurities that can cause corrosion to occur to the electronics. This can also be aided by an electrical current flow. Use IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) 90%+ (available at most pharmacies) to disperse the liquid and dry the systemboard. Remember to disconnect any cables as well, as the liquid may have gotten into the connectors. Do not use rubbing alcohol as it is usually only 70% or less (check the label if you do), may contain scents etc. and is not as effective. Be gentle when cleaning, you do not wish to cause more problems. Here is a link that explains in principle what to do. Electronics Water Damage. Hopefully this is of some help.
More importantly, think very hard before you try this repair yourself. The screen has to be removed from the frame before you can get to the mother board. If you’ve never done this repair before, there is a 99% chance your screen is going to break. That is a very expensive screen….wholesale pricing for the note 4 screen is in the range of $150.00 for the OEM part. You should consider taking it to a professional.
