Hi There, Although people point to the 13” instructions for replacing the trackpad, the actual trackpad is a very different part which also attaches differently. Questions… If you don’t know the exact screw sizes, it’s very easy to strip the heads so I don’t want to guess. Does anyone know the sizes for the 6 screws per side which attach the trackpad to the case? See screws highlighted in yellow .The screw circled in red is not seated properly and is kind of jammed on an angle which is why the trackpad isn’t working. Others say this is a Torx6 screw but it just doesn’t seem right. Now that it’s jammed on a slight angle, what’s a good way of getting it out? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Ben
The red marked screw is not a mount screw! Its an adjuster for the click-plate click action. Its more like a threaded rod than screw. The Yellow marked screws are Phillips Screws I suspect you are looking at the wrong guide the 13” guide here MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2012 Trackpad Replacement clearly shows at Step 40 the screws in question. Granted we don’t have trackpad guides for the early 15” retina models (first one we have is the 2016 model)
