I need to know how it is glued in place

The supplier of the new window should offer the special adhesive caulk for the task. Make sure you’ve fully clean the metal surfaces of any old adhesive, make sure the frame is not bent and wipe down the surfaces with special glass solvent to remove any grease or oil on both the frame and glass edges. You’ll need a second person to help you, and you need to use gloves! Frankly, I find the techs that do this from their vans are just better than what you or I can do on our own. There are little tricks they use that only experience can offer. Besides, how are you going to get the replacement glass home without damaging it in the process?

Hi @sucsess , Here are some images taken from the Glass/Windows/Mirrors section of the 2005 Subaru Forester Service and Repair manual that show how to remove and install the rear gate window. The second image shows how to install the front windscreen glass. The procedure is the same for the rear gate window.
